Synopsis
Sidney Stratton, ingénieur chimiste, découvre un tissu insalissable et inusable, source de profits mais également source d'ennuis. Industriels et ouvriers se liguent contre lui. Sidney ne se décourage pas et alerte la presse, mais il est séquestré. Finalement, son tissu se révèle défaillant. L'industrie textile est sauvée. Sidney part sous des cieux plus cléments poursuivre ses expériences.
